Villa confirm Collins bid has been agreed

Not much on the site apart from the facts, no idea what the fee is, hopefully its no more than £4 million. We do need a centre back but is Collins the man for the job.

He has made 3 appearances this season for West Ham and in his Hammers career has scored 2 goals.

Why do I put myself through it?! Every transfer window I read all the gossip, check the internet, TV, radio, newspapers for links to players that will set Villa Park alight.....then we agree a fee for Collins, surplus of West Ham, London. Might be a good player, but it got me thinking....when did we last sign a 'bums on seats' exciting player at B6? The rational part of me says 'We are building a team for the future (etc), but I still crave the 'Villa sign Kaka' type headline.....

Was talking about this the other day and completely agree, i cant remember a player coming into Villa Park that you could saw WOW. Even when we have speant £12 million on Milner or £12 million on Downing, you wouldnt really be able to say WOW. It just hasnt happened. Their have been plenty of players available this year, Tuncay and Huth are just two of many. Instead we get Beye and maybe Dunne. Huth is a much better younger player.
