League Cup Draw: Villa Vs Cardiff

Aston Villa will enter the League Cup in the 3rd round stage with a home-tie against Championship side Cardiff City.

Villa, who entered in the 3rd round stage courtesy of their Europa League involvement (which has since ended at the hands of Rapid Vienna) will look to improve on last seasons capitulation against Queens Park Rangers, by welcoming a number of ex-Villans to fortress Villa Park!

Dave Jones' side includes none other than former winger Peter Whittingham, heavily (wrongly) criticised goalkeeper Peter Enckleman, and Riccardo Scimeca.

The tie will be played during the week commencing the 21st September.

cheers Murph. Not an easy tie that, then again, I don't suppose any of them are.... Look forward to that though, goodness knows why!

Suppose any home draw is good. Imagine it will be a tough game. Lets hope we take it seriously.

Why do you say Enckleman was wrongly criticised Murph?

Right, hopefully Whittingham will have a blinder, score the winner, then we can all have a good old moan at MON for selling him! Ah, nothing quite like the sound of Villa fans slagging of their manager is their. Its like bread and butter, strawberrys and cream, apple and pears, something else that goes together well, err Stock Aitken and Waterman erm.....no, I'm done.
