Chins Up We Beat The Scousers!

Article submission from sean the villan:

Chins Up We Beat The Scousers

It has been the most frustrating transfer windows of all time for all villa fans involved to say the least .

As last season panned out we were on the cusp of something great last season only for our 'small squad' to tear apart at the seams at the final hurdle.

With the loss of the two most influential players that have graced Villa Park in the last few years , it looked grim as Gareth Barry signed his lucrative deal down at The City of Money Bags Stadium.

While the Lion heart Laursen lost his last life in his battle against a long serving knee problem, with gaping holes in the field we all looked in despair.

With an upset in our first two games we were all considering something drastic!!!

Then as we all know a certain result we all thought would go down as a thumping in a unbeaten home run of 31 games we go and thump Liverpool for THREE!!!

With the acquisition of Warnock imminent and either Dunne or Distin OR both coming in it seems as though we will be able to plug the back up to look like a strong back line again.

Although many will not admit it against Wigan the presence and quality of a certain someone in the middle was missing; although 4-5-1 is a success that does require two players to fill Barry's gap as O'Neill seems more so stuck on 4-4-2 at home.It does seem we still need the bit of flair or a player who possess' the vision Barry possessed to plug that hole at home .

And on a final note but a very very Big (John) One , we need to ensure we don't lose our current Holte End hero in Carew.

We don't know what has gone on, whether he really has had an illness or a gammy toe, I'm not fussed as long as he is still with us scoring, and leading the line with the sheer class he has in abundance.

I have faith that Martin will have the players we require in before the end of the window , and we can all relax and watch and enjoy another productive season to follow up and maybe ...just maybe there might be a bit of silverware in some form on its way into the Villa Trophy cabinet; winning the Carling Cup to me would be just magic.

Come on Villa bring back that bit of cup 'magic' we have missed for too long :)

P.S. lets get behind the boys cut out the boo boys.

Up The Villa.

Nice one. Any thoughts on an attendance for tonight? Be nice if there was a good crowd for Carew's come back to give the big man some support. Hopefully we can thump Rapid Vienna and then the fans really will start believing again. If we can get 2 or 3 up before the hour mark it would be nice to see some youngsters get some minutes.

Agree with the article apart from the Carew bit too. Don't think he is fully a Villa man, he has his own agenda IMHO and it is not 100% focused on Football and the Villa, hope i'm wrong!

Even if we get 2-3 goals up, we still need to be wary of conceeding, as we didn't get an away goal :/

It seems as though we have missed out on a player that would have given us something abit different and hes on his way to STOKE Tuncay woould have been good signing for us .
