Aston Villa Confirm Warnock Talks
Aston Villa have confirmed on the official site that they are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over left back Stephen Warnock.

I think it will mean he will be here till jan10, if Bouma is then fit then he will go Young-jonah.

First of a few in this week I hope. He's not a bad signing at all, though I must say Shorey played his best game yet for us this week at Anfield.

Shorey played well with 5 in front of him. This guy is better and more flexible. Hopefully Freddie will be back.

So this week should be Warnock, Distin and probably Richard Dunne. A striker would be nice too though.

Hopefully it means they all stay. If we want to mount a serious challenge in all competitions then we need the depth and flexibility - remember Bouma can also play CB. This is why we have signed Beye - for more depth and rotation, unlike what some pr1ck on a two-bob website thought when he reported yesterday that Luke Young has lost his place! - Seriously bad research and reporting!

good news on the warnock front he will improve us, distin has now officially handed in a transfer request (on SSN) bit worried that everton might pip us to him but hope he sees the light and comes to villa, just a though that he might wait until he sees what happens tomorrow night first before making his mind up

Shorey should be kept, get some competition for places, Wilf still has a way to go to be fully fit and ready... hopefully he'll make it and be back to his best but nothign is guaranteed in this mad old game.

The train starts to roll! Hope this is the start of a few more QUALITY players. Should be a good dependable signing from what I've seen from Warnock, a left sided Luke Young ;)

Think Warnock and Young at the back and a good solid 2 CB and i do believe davies and may it be dunne or Distin would be a solid back 4!!!!! Carlos needs more time i think to adjust but feel he will come good!!!!

it will be really interesting to see who would be the first choice CB partnership, all 4 have about the same reputation although Davies and Cuellars have been dropping recently. I am really excited about the Warnock signing, although he does tend to get a few injuries.

hopefully warnock dunne and maybe distin in and im praying for o'neill to bring in tuncys flair missing when we go forward to give us something different and for big john to stay and lead our forward line with tuncy in a free role in five man midfield flair and a tireless worker what else would you want !!!

I would assume that either Everton or Villa will land Distin and whoever doesn't will get Dunne instead. I think the other cb we sign is likely to be Wheater or Taylor from the Championship, young and English.

Hiya guys, a Rovers fan here!!! Congratulations on signing Warnock he is very consistent and will give you 110% every single game!!! That is invaluable in the PL. I am shocked that you paid us so much for him and that you even targeted him because if you think that he is World Class or that he can take you to the next level then you are mistaken.....he's a good LB and an average CM......if any of you think this is sour grapes then it isn't, the only thing that will prove my theory is i come back and ask you in a month or two!!!
