Sunday's Transfer Talk - 10 Days To Go

10 Days To Go!

The Sunday Express say we are going to go for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne quoting around £6million and will also pay around £4million for Portsmouth centre back Slyvain Distin. Both have been strongly linked throughout the summer, although Dunne did say recently he was happy at Man City.

The Mirror are claiming that Hull are still interested in Luke Young and say that Villa and the Tigers are talking over a swap deal with centre back Michael Turner moving to Villa in exchange.

Now the 'whispers' in the press and amongst 'sources close to the club' (!) say that Young returned from the Peace Cup early because of a fall out and not an injury but whether that happened or not, would a move really be top of his thoughts at the moment following the tragedy that has befallen his family? I would very much doubt it.

The News of the World have returned to the Jermaine Jenas link. Appy Arry has said he isn't for sale unless a top bid comes in for him (he mentioned the same for David Bentley at the same time) and Jenas has said he is happy at Spurs but the link keeps on coming.

There is also a brief snippet in the NotW saying that Villa might 'hijack' Newcastle's proposed £2million bid for Watford defender Mike Williamson. Good grief, my cup runneth over!

Nothing new, nothing exciting, just the same old same old! I wish I could travel in time to the end of the transfer window. This is agony!

Azton villain, do you not remember Dunne and Distin together at Man Citeh? they weren't very good at all. I still think we should be aiming higher. Upson and Haageland.
