Blackburn Rovers Fan Opinion On Warnock 'Signing'

Looks like we might have got Warnock (apologies!)

Could you answer a few questions?

1) So, are you surprised to see Warnock leaving Blackburn Rovers?

The rumours have been around all summer but I honestly thought it would die. Looks like we were wrong, I am more then surprised, I am shell-shocked!

2) Why would Blackburn be having to sell last years player of the season?

To be honest, I don't know. Our finances aren't the best, but definitely not the worst. We have signed Gael Givet, who some might say is a better Left back then Warnock, but Stevie is such a versatile player and such a loss

3) What sort of player are we getting, do you think he is a good signing and worth the reported £8m?

At that price, I think he is a steal. He is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League, and always gives 110%. He has pace, gets stuck in, and knows how to counter...

4) What sort of reception will he get on returning to Ewood Park?

Nothing but a standing ovation, unless he spoils it by saying something stupid in the press (which I doubt he will)

5) Big Sam... the right man for the job do you think? What sort of reception does Mark Hughes get these days?

I still think Big Sam is the right man. He did the job last season, I'm sure he has some sort of plan. As for Sparky, well, I am in Australia, so all I can say is what I see on TV. Sparky seems to get a good reception, and does give the crowd the respect they deserve. He left on good terms, good luck to him

6) What are your hopes for the season?

I wasn't confident before this transfer, and now I really don't know. Was hoping a top 10 finish, but sadly, unless our midfielders stay fit, we might just be looking at 12th-14th

He's alright. About as inspiring a signing as Beye - 'OK', 'will do the job' as opposed to being brilliant. He's another body in though which is something.

He's an excellent player. Much better than shorey and he will do well. Just think of a left footed Lukey Young and that's him.

Is everyone going to moan about everything? There is only one thing more depressing than the first two results - the attitude of the 'fans'. I used to think being a fan was all about supporting your team but in the internet age where everyone has a voice the moaners seem to rule. It is so easy to find the negative in anything and Villa fans are excelling in this at the moment. I've been a season ticket holder for many years and a fan for 44+ years so I don't need a history lesson about the past. I think what we do need is some support for the best owner we have ever had. OK we all get upset and shout at the end of the game but this ongoing negative stuff will get us nowhere worth reaching.

warnock seriously, £8m? will have to prove himself to me, especially when bouma is back. whereas everton are signing an argentine international for peanuts. Why o why do we never sign anyone from abroad! there are obviously bargains to be had

Gordonsleftboot, 2 wins in 19, no goals in last 2, nearly out of europa cup, 1 fit Centre back, players leaving without being replaced, lack of investment by our 'best owner we have ever had!' well beaten at home by WIGAN, how many reasons do you need to feel you have the right to moan?

Please don't get me wrong, MON and Mr Lerner are good for us and long may it continue. But at the moment we are in a dark place and they (the club) need to bring back the good feeling for the fans, by investing in a squad capable of competeing we are far from that right now. Too many times under Mr Ellis did we reach a point when a further investment would've took us to the next level...and it never came. I'm hoping thats not going to happen with our lastest management team.

anyone else listening to five live? MON is at wigan man u (please god not bramble) and apparently were in for newcastles stephen taylor as well. Im sorry but screw buying warnock and taylor, use the money to buy hangelaand or upson! I hate being negative but its just screams a lack of ambition.

As a life long Rovers fan i gotta echo my fellow Rovers views that this is a strange one....he was our most consistent player last year and in our current position i wouldn't have sold him to keep some stability......having said that, as a player he really isn't anything special and cant be much better than Shorey!!! He's certainly not better than Givet!!!.....If any of u villains think this is sour grapes then i assure u that it isnt....he's decent and a steady premiership player but i thought u guys wanted to "kick on" and break the top four??....there must be better left backs than ours at 8 million!!!
