Steven Warnock INCOMING?
The Mirror are reporting that Villa are on the verge of buying Steven Warnock for £8million.
The report says the Blackburn defenders move could be signed, sealed and delivered in time for him to play against former club Liverpool on Monday night.
The 27 year-old left-back, who was Blackburn's player of the year last year, has apparently been pulled out of Blackburn's trip to Sunderland.

The Mirror also say we have had a bid for Arsenal left-back Armand Traore turned down. Now that one would tie in with an early summer 'whisper' !
The Daily Star say that David Wheater has declared his loyalty to Boro saying he can't see himself playing for any other team.

Warnock would be a fantastic signing. Behind Ashley Cole i feel he is the best LB in the country, despite looking at the England squad which would suggest it is Bridge. Hopefully this comes off, then hopefully we can add Distin/Hangeland and Upson then our defence will start looking a little better.

Wonder signing... In I wonder why anyone would be interested in buying him... What we desperately need - a player with the dubious honour of having the shortest england career... 6 Minutes. Surely not gonna be that much better than Shorey... Which will definately means that we are gonna buy him... Plus he joined Rovers for 1.5 million, so I bet we are gonna pay atleast 5...

Here we go again.all talk from villa but yet once again NO action.Villa have have lost there way 40 yrs a villa fan and when MON came in i thought this is it, but as time goes on i feel more down and out .i think MON needs a sat nav as he has lost his way and getting deeper into trouble . It seems the Villa management team and some of the players are becoming more like politicians than sportsmen. So many promises to the future and talking up a storm but the delivery is nowhere to be seen. I really would like a lot less talk and some action let alone a lot of action. We are in dire straits and promises won't solve anything. If we are to have any chance this season then there must be at least three good players bought
this week all at the wrong end of the transfer window. Please do something positive for a change.

Seems ridiculous how we are always being linked to full backs when the club desperately needs Centre Backs. And midfields that are influential and can win a match

think we need strength in depth, this one can also play midfield and IF Shorey isn't impressing (spent a lot of time on the bench last season with Young on the left... and he wants back in the right) then a very good addition I'd think?

Good signing if it happens, i think Boma will move into centre back as he does play there for holland when called up, but a big centre back as well would be good along with a really good creative player.

I also think that could be the answer pksandell - Bouma probably better suited to CB than LB, and could solve part of a problem for us.
