MON Gives Luke Young As Much Time As Needed

Ok, so we have a little bit more information on the 'Luke Young situation. Despite reports linking him with a move to Hull, I did post an article yesterday saying he was going nowhere, having done some digging: Luke Young NOT going to Hull

Today the official site has some quotes from Martin O'Neill saying he thinks Luke has more important things on his mind right now than a move to another club adding no one from Hull had bee in touch:

'Speaking to him before his tragic event, he was frustrated during pre-season. He came back raring to go, the calf injury had cleared up so it was really frustrating for him to get this latest injury. He thinks he can get better. Despite the fact he has plenty of experience, he thinks he can do better. He thinks there's more to come and I don't disagree with him.'

MON also says that Luke has all the time he needs following the tragic death of his bother, there are no time limits. It is a ' It's painful, devastating, sad and he's asked for a little bit of time and I've absolutely given it to him. This is his brother. I know it's his half brother but I think they were pretty close. It puts things into perspective.'

He also says that the right-back came into the Bodymoor the other day to try to take things off his mind.

'When he's ready to come we'll be delighted to see him.'

I'm sure all our thoughts are with Luke and his family at this awful time.

Fair enough, better than playing when your head is not really there! I wish him all the best!
