Reserves Off To A Flyer

Aston Villa's second string have returned to winning ways quicker than the first team as they gear up for the Reserve League.

Barry Bannan and Daniel Bradley both found the scoresheet as the second string entertained the Uzbekistan U20 team in a friendly at Bodymoor Heath.

Whilst Villa gear up for the season, the Uzbekistan team are preparing for the World Youth Championships and plenty of players received good run outs.

Salifou (yes he's still with us) and Osbourne received 90 and 60 minutes respectively whilst Delfouneso, Lichaj, Clark, Lowry and Herd all played parts to keep their fitness levels high.

Kevin MacDonald told the official site after the game:

'It was a really good workout for the players and a different experience for them as they took on a national team.'

If anymore details about the match become available, I'll update this article.

Saliwho? Good news on Bannan though. If we can get in a couple more quality signings and keep Lichaj, Albrighton, Fonz etc coming through we could really compete in a few years...
