*Daily Torture* More AV Transfer Talk!

*Daily Torture* More AV Transfer Talk!

Ok, really the gossip now is just repeats of previous links, I think we are all (?) at the stage where the gossip has grown boring and after the no show last weekend v Wigan, we just want action not words?

Anyway, James Nursey at The Mirror has a link to a £6million bid for Middlesbrough defender David Wheater.

His report also suggests that Villa would listen to offers for MON's £8.5million signing from West Ham Nigel Hokey-Cokey. Judging by the midfielders (yes, midfielder, not full or centre back!) face at the weekend, he'd jump at a move, he looked crestfallen sitting on the bench when Steve Sidwell and then Villa kid Marc Albrighton were both preferred over and above him despite our midfield losing the battle v Wigan.

Another report says that Everton are looking at Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos and Middlesbrough centre-back Robert Huth both who have been linked also to Villa.

The Daily Mail insist we are going to do a double deal with Spurs to bring in David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas with the report saying Spurs will lower their £12m price for Bentley as Appy Arry wants to use the money to buy Celtic's Scott Brown. They also claim that Spurs want Man City midfielder Martin Petrov and will off load marmite midfielder Jenas to make way.

The Mail things we'd get Bentley for around £8m and add ons and Jenas for just £7m. Hmmm.

Those links make sense don't they? No, not when you read Appy Arry telling Sky Sports that they aren't for sale! lol... Funny old game my arse, this is torture! On the links he said: 'I keep hearing that. I've never heard from Martin or anyone else about it, I just think it's probably a football agent trying to sell one of his players to make some money. Trying to gee-up some interest from somewhere, but they are good players. Jenas is injured unfortunately at the moment. He's a great lad and a good player. Hopefully he'll be fit for the weekend. If someone offers crazy money for any footballer, as it proved with Ronaldo, then it's good business. You can never say never with any player, but he isn't a player that we want to sell.'

Luke Young I'm assured isn't on his way out although some press are still sure he is. Details: Luke Young NOT Going To Hull

I hate to say it, but I am growing fond of the prosepect of Bentley and Jenas even though we don't need another winger. At this point I don't want to go after players that lack quality. I still don't understand why we aren't going after established centerbacks. 15 mil for Hangeland and/or Upson. 10 mil for Van Der Vaart. Dump Heskey. Go back to the 4-5-1. Wait for Bouma and Luke Young to get healthy. Teach Ash not to fall over when looked at. I think if that happens we will be back to the 3rd place form of last year.

So if Harry is denying that we have been in-touch who are the players that Martin is chasing? Petrov said in his interview that we will all be very pleased with the new signings. Mind you Fear said that a few weeks ago. You never see him and Petrov in the same room do you?

Sorry Olof, can't allow that even if only as a joke mate.

I reckon MON stopped the deal after Bentley opened his mouth to the papers. Bentley is bad news, his attitude on and off the pitch stinks but is worth a punt at 7m to see if he can finally sort his act out. Centre backs are FAR more important though, still cannot fathom why it hasnt been addressed...........MON said he would address Barry and Laursen's departure and so far he hasnt. If this window closes and he hasnt replaced either adequatley im sorry but serious question have to be asked.
