Villa's Rapid Vienna Squad + Ticket News

Villa have named the 22-man squad for the Rapid Vienna first leg play-off game in the Interflora Europa Uefa European type competition thingy.

Thursday night's game takes place at the Hanappi Stadium. Unless something is arranged late on, it doesn't look like any tv company is featuring this game, I'll update if that changes. The home leg is on tv which I would think is rather unhelpful to Villa trying to get bums on seats at Villa Park following those who have doubts re: the validity of the competition and or how we treated it last year. A lot will depend on the result this week I guess. So strange it isn't being picked up for tv, you'd think the Villa fan audience would be higher for the game most can't get to?

Anyway, the 22-man squad includes Villa new boy Andy Marshall and hopefully fit again John Carew Carew In Line For Rapid Return

Goalkeepers: Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan, Andy Marshall

Defenders: Curtis Davies, Nicky Shorey, Habib Beye, Carlos Cuellar, Eric Lichaj, Ciaran Clark, Shane Lowry

Midfielders: Steve Sidwell, Ashley Young, James Milner, Marc Albrighton, Fabian Delph, Stiliyan Petrov, Nigel Reo-Coker, Craig Gardner,

Strikers: John Carew, Gabby Agbonlahor, Nathan Delfouneso, Emile Heskey

A nice 2-0 away victory with Albrighton and Delph starring would suit me well. I hope Shorey has a good game, I really want him to be a good player for us!
