Luke Young NOT Going To Hull
Following the reports eminating from Hull yesterday that our very own right-back (and left-back!) Luke Young was possibly a subject to a bid accepted by Aston Villa:

I can confirm that the Club are briefing journalists that claims are not true.
Phew, wouldn't have gone down well at all that one, he's certainly been embraced by the Villa faithful, I've rarely seen anything written or heard anything said against this signing (which makes a change for us Villans!)
Then again, has someone hacked into the clubs official site as there appears to be a player profile of Luke Young on the Hull site! www.hullcityafc.net/page/ProfilesDetail

With all due respect Basel Tiger, if in your wildest dreams you were ever in a position to be able to a)afford, and then b) entice Luke Young to your little corner of the world, then take my word for it, you could count yourselves to be very lucky little tigers indeed. One of the better full backs in the premiership, there are many bigger fish than your lot that would willingly have him in their starting line-up. Anyway, fantasy over, we here at beautiful Brummagem B6 are breathing a huge sigh of relief that our summer of transfer madness has not continued with the sale of Luke, not that I think too many of us actually believed that there was anything to the story. Luke Young to Hull City, I mean come on. We dont mind the occasional laugh every now and again here on Vital Villa, but that story was taking things just a little bit too far.

I still think it's perfectly possible that Luke Young would be very interested if a top half club wanted him to play at right back. My suspicion is that Luke Young is going to be our left back this season. So much for O'Neill being the manager to gwt you in the England squad!
