Is It Right To Boo Your Own Team?!

Is It Right To Boo Your Own Team?!

Just had a poll suggestion through which makes sense to ask now after the weekend's booing at half and full time v Wigan.

johnproche suggested:

Is it ever right to boo your team/manager?

Yes, if they've been bad all season
Yes, after a few bad games
Sometimes in poor one off games
Unsure, I don't but understand why some do
No, young players can be demoralised
Absolutely not, the crowd is the 12th man
On the fence..boooo!

The poll result from Mike Field aka 'so nothing changes':

Wigan MisMan of the Match

Milner 35%
Sidwell 31%
Friedel 12%
Delph 4%
Petrov 4%
Delfouneso 3%
Shorey 2%
Young 2%
Heskey 2%
Agbonlahor 1%
Albrighton 1%
Beye 1%
Davies 1%
Cuellar 1%

Villa v Wigan (back to business!) will:

5% got it right saying a loss, 9% a draw and 86% predicted a win!

not keen on booing, especially IN games (this weekend that didn't happen). I didn't boo but can see why so many did, it was a shambles and the manager and players had to be made aware I guess that we were all/mostly all were not happy at all.

Cant stand the booing and a large section of fans booing after matches last season made us look stupid. But Saturday was a total shambles, sometimes fans need to be given something to cheer.

I'll never boo. Not my own team. But it was shocking.

I'm a Wigan fan and booing your own team is just stupid and can only make things worse... MON certainly doesn't deserve to be booed you are very lucky to have him as your manager

I couldn't make it to the first game of the season (... and by all accounts i'm glad i missed it!) Now don't get me wrong, booing is not for me, but I can understand it. and my point on the booing is this:- If you pay your hard earnt cash and you're not happy with what you get for it, you should have every right to complain. I'm guessing here, but i think most of the booing was probably aimed at MON and maybe not the the players, after all, most of the negativity on these forums is about MON and his insistance on 4-4-2 and his lack of transfer activity and his belief that arguably our best midfielder is also our best right back. etc etc. I was quietly optimistic before the season started, and i STILL am, one bad game does not make for a bad season. Keep the faith my fellow villans!!
