Villa Poem - Enjoy The Season

Villa Poem - Enjoy The Season

Enjoy The Season:

Enjoy the season
Of claret and blue
Enjoy the arguments
The agreements too
Enjoy the shots on target
Enjoy the goals
Marvel at just how fast
the football goes.
Endure the misses
And the fluky so and so's

Enjoy the opponents
Don't forget to boo
Enjoy the selections
See what the players can do
Enjoy the magic goal
from a simple one two.

Enjoy the highs
Enjoy the lows
Enjoy the wins
Enjoy the goals
Enjoy the ones that got away
Never forget
we'll get them back one day

Enjoy the effing ref
He works as a banker
Never forget,
The blues are all w//kers

Endure the misses
Enjoy the hits
When you see the streaker
ignore his worst bits
Enjoy the manager
The coaches too
Enjoy when the players
Run into view

Enjoy the sunshine
for the first few games
A month from now
Enjoy the rain.
Enjoy the snow and driving sleet
It won't matter
With our opponents beat

For this is the season
The reason for me
To put on my colours
And support my team
The Champions we may not be
That is too true

But the greatest of all teams
Between me and you
Will always be in our hearts
And our minds too
Enjoy the season
With the mighty claret and blue.

What an enjoyable read to kick off the new campaign. Hopes are high, we start with a clean slate, and attempt to go a couple of places better in our final league placing next May, along with a couple of decent and exciting runs in the two domestic cup competitions, plus, dare I hope for a more glorious campaign on the european stage? Not asking for too much am I? Whether come September 1st we'll have a strong enough squad, quality and numbers wise, will no doubt be answered over the next few weeks as Mart finally gets his rear in gear in the transfer market.
