Not a great deal going on press wise to be honest.
The Daily Express claim that Villa have put in a £5million bid in for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne. Bit of a yawn really.
The Daily Mirror claim that Sunderland will bid for Villa target (?) Sylvain Distin from Portsmouth along with (not that this interests us at all) David James and Lucas Neil.
Reports today suggest that reported Villa target (lets face it, he can't be otherwise we'd have bought him by now as he is clearly for sale) Middlesbrough striker Tuncay Sanli may be off to Fenerbahce on loan. Another report claims that both Wolves and Everton are also interested in him and that he might be available for as little as £6m.

We can't be in for Dunne. I thought Distin was over the hill but he's well past it. MON says that they are currently working on a few things but we need one ASAP. We've got as many right backs as senior centre backs now.

I know, instead of signing Dunne for £5m, lets sign 3lbs of English Cheddar, i think the cheese will be just as effective in defence as Dunne would and would cost us considerably less. Dunne is beyond useless and Cheese tastes nice and is more versatile.

Dunne would be a fantastic signing - player of the year for Man Citeh for the past few years excluding last year of course! And I'd put last seasons bad spell down to the turmoil at the end of the last season when he saw Sven being sacked! Which he nearly threatened to walk out on I think. I think his experience is exactly what Cuellar and more importantly Davis need! I think Davis and Dunne could be a very formidable defence! That said I'd also take all three of Middlesborough's defensive line: Huth, Wheater or Hoyte!

I only picked Cheddar as i know MON favours young english cheeses who are on the brink of The england team, he may however throw us a curveball and sign some nice foreign Halloumi, or a dutch Edam or Gouda . what i can say for a fact is that if we were Arsenal, wenger would sign some Brie as he only goes for French!!
