Aston Villa Summer Transfer Thread Pt 6

Aston Villa Summer Transfer Thread Pt 6

Part six of the summer long torture thread. Sorry, did I say torture, I meant TRANSFER thread. Last summer we filled about 10 or 11 of these up with article comments so lets see if we can't out do ourselves and maybe this time we'll all end up happy and positive with the incoming and outgoing players!?

So basically use this thread as you wish, who have you seen linked, who would you like in, which linked players would be good, bad or just plain ugly?

We also have the forum thread to endure, sorry I meant enjoy:

The Summer Transfer Thread Part 3

The previous two went to 150 pages or so each so I've closed them as they were getting a bit slow to load! The Aston Villa Summer Transfer Thread and Aston Villa Summer Transfer Thread Pt 2

And in time honoured fashion, I'll simply say....

Over to you Mr O'Neill !

Movements so far:

Out

Gareth Barry £12million to Manchester City
Stuart Taylor on a free to Manchester City
Zat Knight Around £4million to Bolton Wanderers

In

Stewart Downing £12million (approx.. from press talk) from Middlesbrough.
Fabian Delph undisclosed from Leeds
Habib Beye from Newcastle United (undisclosed, around £2.5m?)
Andy Marshall (free agent)

Part 3 with 214 comments: Transfer Thread Pt 3
Part 4 with 210 comments Transfer Thread Pt 4
Part 5 with 210 comments Transfer Thread Pt 5

This is a useful page on Sky Sports which updates all the transfers for all the Premiership clubs: www.skysports.com/football/transfers Not missed out on that many players despite all being slow have we?! Lets hope this part five finally see's a good number of incoming players and no more out?!

Is the cover keeper counted as one of the players MON said was coming in... i mean, if signing an old goalkeeper is all we've been waiting for... i'd be slightly afraid.

just wondering other peoples opinions on delph and downing... do you think they are replacements for Barry's position or should we expect another midfielder?also how many defenders will we buy? just interested to know others realistic views.
