Jamie Redknapp - Delph In Top 10 Players To Watch

Jamie Redknapp has done a top ten players to watch article in the Daily Mail and non other than Villa new boy Fabian Delph makes the list.

This lad sounds so exciting a prospect, can't wait to see what he can do when he makes his full Premiership debut... MON has already hinted he might have a chance this Saturday against Wigan. Lets hope so!

Redknapp said:

New to the Premier League scene, but I’ve watched him — and liked him — for a while. He has a nastiness to his game, which you need, and he won’t be afraid to put his foot in. He will grow at Aston Villa and will develop under Martin O’Neill’s careful guidance. Can pass with both feet. Excellent buy.

MON on Delph's Fiorentina performance: 'I thought he was great - really great. Is he capable of becoming a really brilliant player? I don't think there's any doubt. He has a great attitude and top-flight ability. He is certainly not one where I will want him to come through in two years or something like that. This boy is knocking on the door now. He played a number of games for Leeds at a young age - and that is a great club with big expectation. He is a player.' Full article:

Reading the other comments in the article, looks like Redknap has also recognised that Barry is a great DM but not the creative Am he was okayed as at Villa. I wonder if Barry has acknowledged this yet?

Possibly a decent point, he wasn't a flair player all the time but some of his passing was inch perfect.
