Villa Trio In England Squad - MON Unimpressed
Villa trio James Milner, Ashley Young and Emile Heskey are all in Fabio Capello's squad for England's friendly with Holland on Wednesday.

England face Holland in a friendly on Wednesday night, a game that has seen Villa manager Martin O'Neill - never short of a word or two - hit out at a 'pointless' game...
This, along with various other international friendlies and word cup qualifiers, comes on the eve of the new premier league season and this is something that has rattled O'Neill - and others - but not being one to hold back he has voiced his displeasure at this, having previously been unhappy with the U21 and U19 Euros over the summer: 'we will have loads and loads of people away. We have got full internationals, under-21s and under-20s. We might as well invent an under-22 and under-24 competition.

He's dead right. I don't always agree with the 'club before country' argument, but this match, a few days before the start of the season, could destroy some clubs' ambitions for the season, all for an hour and a half's friendly football.

if MoN is so bothered by it he can easily do a ferguson and say the players are injured, personaly i would love to see England lift the world cup but it cant be done if we dont make the right preps for it

Like Bob the Builder, I don't usually agree with the 'club before country' bit, but I think the timing of this game is bad.

I don`t think it`s an Official International week, so we could refuse to allow are players to attend. I think it will do them some good to play with and against better players, should get them match fit quicker.
