TOTAL PANTS - Ashley Young Is Going Nowhere!!

His report today says Spurs are ready to make a 'new' bid for England and Villa winger Ashley Young. A new bid? There hasn't been a bid as far as I can make out and if there was, you would certainly expect them not to make a joke of themselves by bidding just £21million for the 24-year-old former Watford man.

Both Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner have said the player isn't for sale so short of the winger putting in a transfer request - and his recent comments saying he is happy at Villa and has much to achieve here suggests he isn't of a mind to do that - there is no chance he is leaving.

There is NO CHANCE full stop of him leaving for £21million - that is for sure.

The paper claims that Appy Arry see's a chance of getting him because Villa are hot in pursuit of Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder. They miss one fact, Villa has a tiny squad and is looking to build.

Ash said not so long back in the Express and Star: 'I've got two and a half years left, and I'm delighted to be playing at the club. I can see myself seeing out the rest of my contract here. Of course I can.' Adding in the Mail 'It's a big year coming up. I'm a fairly grounded person. I've been brought up that way. As a player you always want to play in the biggest competitions. I am no different.'

'Fingers crossed one day I will be able to play in the Champions League and with the way that things are going at the club hopefully we will break into that top four and get the chance to play there, which is the ambition of the club.' Ashley Young Happy To Honour Contract

FFS, are these journo's really that stupid, bored, talentless, rumourless and repetitive?? Are they all Spuz fans and just hoping/dreaming or even Arsenal Fans trying to unsettle players and squads, worrying about their own predicament ahead of the season??

Its probably complete nonsense but its still amusing that Villa fans seem to get so sensitive/uptight about it. Every player has his price however big the club he plays for (Ronaldo!!) and Young has his price, although I fully agree that its likely to be higher than £21 million. I understand that he is unlikely to go to Hull or Stoke even if they could pay the required fee but at the moment Spurs and Villa are at a roughly similar(ish) level and Spurs are closer to his family home so its not crazy, although still unlikely. Chill out about it or everyone will think you have a complex. By comparison, our best player is Modric and we are aware that if someone comes along with enoough money and its attractive to the player he may go, especially if we dont have a good season this year. Thats life with good players - there will always be speculation.

i saw the headline and instantly knew it was total crap. aiden magee is a complete idiot. i didn't think it could get any worse. i tried to leave a comment for him but they didn't put it up on the page. i dont know why i even read it
