Newcastle Fan 'Beye A Cracker' Of A Signing

Vital Newcastle editor Ross has sent me a quick interview (top lad, he is away for the weekend so did this via his WAP... very kind and very appreciated)

1) So are you surprised that you've sold Habib Beye?

Given Beye has been quite vociferous about wanting Alan Shearer and whacked in the transfer request it's not the greatest of shocks.

2) More to the point, are you surprised Villa have bought him, is he any good?!?!?

Regarding Villa, I'm so happy he's going to a decent club and not Hull. I detest Phil Brown and wish him and the Tigers the worst for 09/10. Habib was totally had regarding the direction the club and has played under 6 managers already at NUFC in 2 years

3) What sort of a player are we getting and are you sorry to see him go?

As a player he's fantastic - passionate, cultured and marauding. Had he not been crippled by that thug Cattermole and missed 4 months I think we would have stayed up. You're getting a cracker.

4) If he returned to St James Park having left, what sort of reception would he get, surely a player owes it to a relegated club to stay and try and get them back up again, or was this a good move for both club and player?

If he ever came back there would be no animosity, he's well liked and well within his rights. He was always dedicated and if all our players had his attitude then, again, we wouldn't have gone down.

5) How do you see your season going, straight back up or tough times ahead?

I can't see us going straight up. Our striking pool consists of Ameobi and Carroll and I can't exactly see them firing us to glory! A long hard slog awaits methinks...

can't argue with that ... always love the fans view, so much more 'real' than players and managers talk.

Sounds like Luke will have his work cut out holding on to the RB slot - can't be bad.

Interesting signing, competing with Hull for the player, does this indicate his level?

We didn't compete with Hull, by the looks of it, as soon as we showed an interest Goatee Man had no chance, which is how it should be.

Very good signing by MOM. I really rate him. Always running up and down the line everytime I've seen him, and he's got a good positional sense. Also has a Laursenesque habit of popping up to score when needed. I'm also glad he won't be playing for Phil Brown. I quite like Hull, but Brown is the biggest tw*t (the * is both an a and an i) in the League.

I look away for an hour and we sign a player!! Wicked. And a right back!!! Double wicked. You can't argue with the above comments from Ross of Newcastle. So who's next? A certain WS from Madrid would be nice.

I am praying that MON pulls out a couple of wonder signings... The stats are getting worrying... 3 players out, 1 retired. 3 players in. That leaves us currently at -1 (excluding the fact that downing doesn't count as a signing till december). We have lost argueably our two best players. As Alcoolie says - 2 championship players and a league one player. So thats 3 players that actually won't currently make our best 11... Sorry I'm so negative but I look at the quality coming through our youth again and with some smart/top signings we should have the team to seriously rock the top 4 boat... Instead our best option for an attacking central mid is a winger (milner/downing). 2 of our 4 strikers couldn't score at a strip club and our defense is held together with sticky tape... AAAAAARGHHHHH...

Calm down people, they aren't two championship players they have infact not even played a game in the championship, they are two players that played for teams that were relegated from the Premier League both are international players too. A centre back to come in next and we are on the right road.

As a Newcastle fan Im gutted to lose Beye. He is a class above all our other defenders. He is one of the best right backs I have seen in the EPL and is not out of place in a top 6 side. Good luck to him, he never let the side down and deserves to play for a decent side unlike our other wasters. Hull deserve Geremi, Smith and Barton.

Jeez, what a picky lot you are (was going to say fickle, but somebody got there before me, lol). I see some great signings coming through the door, proven in the Prem, well liked and respected by the clubs they are leaving, and you're all moaning. Give me strength!
