Villa Have Rapid Austrian Trip In Europa

Aston Villa have been drawn against Austrian club Rapid Vienna in the Interflora, sorry, I meant Europa League.

This is the play-off stage of the competition, I can't be bothered (being the dedicated kinda guy I am) going into the full structure of the league again, I'm too old, I just wish competitions would all go back to 'proper' cup football, you face a team, you win you progress, you lose you are out!

Villa are away for the first leg on August 20th at the Gerhard Hanappi Stadium 18 400 capacity) with the return leg the following week at Villa Park.

Ticket news will no doubt follow...

Bring back the UEFA cup!!! Why not the "real" European Cup too. Someone once observed that the Holy Roman Empire wasn't Holy, Roman or an Empire. Well, the so-called European Champions League", isn't truly European (Brazilians are apparently the most represented nationality among players), isn't filled with champions and isn't a genuine league. Why not just invite the African, Asian and South American clubs and just have a genuine World Club Cup?

I've been to the Gerhard Hanappi - nice little stadium and Vienna is a great place - the beer and the girls are particularly nice IIRC.
