I hope he can make the same impact as Young.... It's Possible, he is getting very high praise more than Young ever did when he was at watford.

I think we have to wait and see with Delph. He's been playing in League One, which isn't really any kind of standard of football, and it's not like he was playing for a team who walked the division. We should also remember that he has only played once for the U21 side, and that was 8 or 9 months ago. Perhaps tellingly, he wasn't picked again after a sub appearance. Yes he's only 19, but 19 year olds making an impact at U21 is hardly unheard of. Also, let's not forget that, certainly at this point in time, Craig Gardner is more highly rated, at least by Stuart Pearce, so is Delph suddenly going to leap above him in the pecking order? I'm not bad-mouthing Delph by any means, but just adding a note of realism. Of course it would be great if he turned out to be as good as Ashley Young, but that is getting way ahead of things, as Young is a pretty special player whom we're fortunate to have for the coming season.
