'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Heskey Unimpressed With Porto

Emile Heskey admits that he was out of order for raising his hands in last nights Porto clash, but it's clear he was not happy with their behaviour.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Heskey said that Villa should expect a season of similar tactics and 'gamesmanship' when we are in Europe after Porto turned the Peace Cup semi final into a 'niggly and silly game'.

Speaking specifically to the competence of the idiot in charge, Heskey said:

'Whenever we got close to them they'd fall on the floor and the referee would give a free-kick, but when they booted us up in the air we got nothing.

'There was no consistency.'

He continued to explain that this is the type of behaviour we can expect in the Europa League and Villa will have to learn to deal with it, and play around such antics.

People often refer to the Premiership as the greatest league in the world, I don't think it can be argued that it's potentially the most honest league in the world.

Even Villa fans criticise our own when they flop to the floor like they've just been shot, players are supposed to be playing football not looking for a degree in theatrics.

Speaking on his red card, Heskey added:

'I shouldn't have done anything, I should have just carried on playing. I don't want to go over the incident again, people will see for themselves what happened.'

Heskey also says it's bitterly disappointing that he will now miss the final, and wonders if Villa are actually cursed given the injuries we keep picking up, the sending offs and multitude of bookings...either that or it wasn't expected Villa would make the final!
