'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 28/07/2009

Unoial Villa News...

Ok, so I lied earlier when I declared Vital Villa to be back only for it to go offline! Ouch... Anyway, it is now on a new server and all should be fine... famous last words. It will take a short while for the server to resolve back to the right url as opposed to the ://astonvilla.ds6042.dedicated.turbodns.co.uk currently on display. This might affect front page logins for a short while (you can login but it will probably then log you out once you've posted) OR you can re-boot your router/modem (ie unplug it and plug it back in) and all should be fine and indeed dandy. Been awful few days but performance should be fine now and we've ordered a completely new set of hardware which will hopefully be up and running in the next month once fully specked. Apologies to all those who have had to talk with wives and family or have been forced to venture into the real world... I hang my head in shame for not putting the 50p in the meter.

Martin O'Neill spoke to the Express and Star about Nathan Delfouneso who is currently with the England Under 19's in their Euro Tournament Vital England... Click Here ). MON isn't impressed at all with the timing saying: 'It was important for him to be with us. I think it is not until August 3 that we will have him back. I have joked before that they keep inventing these tournaments. I see the benefit of Nathan Delfouneso taking his place in our team here for the recent games. It would have been great for him to come out to Spain as well.' Adding 'The whole idea is for him to play some pre-season games and be nurtured through.'

The latest transfer talk including Martin O'Neill saying don't panic, they are on the case! Distin from Pompey and Bent from Spurs remain the links of favour at the moment: Aston Villa Transfer Talk - Not Time To Panic!

Martin O'Neill says Freddie Boom Boom Bouma is a few weeks away from getting back to training and explains that Luke Young has been sent home from Spain to get some more treatment on his thigh injury. Full article: Fitness Updates For Luke Young & Wilf

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by tr1dent, Do You Like The New Home Kit? 74% voted 'Looks the same apart from neck?'. 17% voted 'yes, really nice', 4% thought it looked really nice, 3% weren't over bothered, 1% were not over keen and just 1% totally hated it.

Martin O'Neill says the Villa youngsters will gain a lot mixing with the senior players in Spain. Speaking to AVTV he said 'I know it is a clichéd thing to say - but this trip has been fantastic for the younger boys. They have been mixing with the senior players on a day-to-day basis, eating with them and generally in their company all the time. Hopefully good things should rub off on them and they should also be looking at their own game too and how they can improve. Overall it is a terrific thing for the younger lads.'

Vital Villa isn't the only place to suffer server downtime, the official site online ticketing will be off tonight !

Villa can still qualify in the Peace Cup after Atlante beat Malaga. Now we have to beat the Mexican's by 2 goals to progress to the semi-finals.

There was a report in The Mirror over the weekend by James Nursery with Steve Sidwell saying he is keen to step into the void left by Gareth Barry's exit to Manchester City. Just wondered what you thought about that? Our latest poll asks your opinion and obviously you can discuss the quotes in article comments and in the forum. Thought for the day: I went into a shop and I said, 'Can someone sell me a food processor.' The bloke said 'Kenwood' I said, 'Where is he then?'
