More Jenas Links Despite 'Not For Sale' Warning

More Jenas Links Despite 'Not For Sale' Warning

Well this is a strange one! The News of the World are claiming that Villa are close to grabbing 26-year-old Spurs and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas. According to them there are a few 'personal terms' to resolve before he puts pen to paper.

Now there have been very strong whispers over the Jenas story and I was fairly confident that there was more to this than just press talk. However Appy Arry last week that Jermaine Jenas was not Villa bound and in fact added that the player wasn't for sale.

I'm still hoping we do go for him and do get him, I think he's a good player... then again, what do I know?! DON'T answer that, I'm easily hurt!

The report says we'll sell both Craig Gardner, linked to Blues (and not as shoddy a link as some thing I've been told) and Nigel Hokey-Cokey linked to a move back to West Ham... Noooooo, sorry Hammers, not really, just wanted to wind you up as I know you loved him.... linked to Spurs, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

Do we really need to be selling ANYONE at all if we want to build a squad?

Now if you look a bit further there are quotes from Jenas saying he is happy at Spurs and not on the way out.... Now if the boss says he isn't for sale and the player says he is happy, surely that means he isn't for sale and that the player is happy?!

On the links he says 'I am very happy here. There has been speculation about quite a few of us through the season but I am a Tottenham player and I am happy. I just want to do the best I can for the club. I have said before that interest from Inter Milan is flattering. I am a Tottenham player as it stands and I will give everything I can to be in the starting 11 come the start of the season.' Adding in the Sunday Express 'A top six finish is not out of the question. We are a top side and that is where we should be aiming. We have got to be playing in Europe with the players we have got.'

So the Daily Star and the Express say we'll step up our bid for him, the player says he is happy at Spurs and the Spurs boss says he isn't for sale.... deal or no deal... you decide!!!

not sure how new the quotes are by Jenas but if recent, it certainly doesn't look like a player on the way out does it?!?!?

The player has also said he wants to remain at spurs, so we should be outraged that you would talk about one of our players, when the player and club have stated they are happy, Spurs would never do such a thing.... I dont think we have ever talked about taking ashley young ;-). Just to add a bit of mischief, before my holidays, at least JJ has indicated he wants to stay. Young has so far remained silent hasnt he.....
