Peace - We Only Lost

Martin O'Neill, as he has been accustomed to doing since February this year was disappointed that we lost tonight.

This loss tonight means that if Malaga can somehow not lose their next match on Monday night, our involvement in the Peace Cup is over.

The Peace Cup is now no longer in our hands...nah, not really bothered either.

Speaking to the official site Martin O'Neill said:

We have a small squad yet we haven't signed anyone who can play until December maybe, we are looking at not playing people out of position and maybe more importantly we won't sell another player until we have signed replacements......well no he didn't but bear with me.

'I thought we had a great chance at one end - spurned it - and then they scored at the other end.'

This is polite for Osbourne being able to not kick a ball.

'But in a game of very few opportunities, it was very disappointing to lose and as a result, qualification for the semi-finals is now out of our hands.'

Meaning, every attempt on goal we missed....and we had plenty.

'We obvioulsy made some changes to the team during the game, with some of the senior players having only just come back to training.'

Meaning...excuse.

'John Carew, Stiliyan Petrov and Ashley Young played for just over an hour and of course, that affected us a little bit.'

How?

'We would, in general, have liked to have played the major players for a bit longer.'

So why didn't you, they had longer to rest?

'That obviously weakened our team. But I think it was the right thing to do because they only came back to train on Monday.'

But it was a team who roughly could beat CSKA Moscow because we apparently didn't throw the UEFA Cup? Are youngsters only useful in European comps, and not in pre season friendlies?

One way or another please.

Ignoring obviously we looked tonight just as crap in the first 45 as we did in the second. Major players meant nothing.

'I was expecting to win the game.'

With Heskey upfront?

'I thought we would be capable of doing it. I would have liked to qualify for the next stage.'

So given up already?

'It's not beyond us but it's now out of our hands.'

Because?

The official site, obviously the turns attention to the beautiful game....our youngsters...

'This environment is good for the younger players.'

Yeah seeing us lose!

'Eric Lichaj played with the senior players for the first time, which would have been an experience for him.'

Lichaj was potentially the man of the match. Of course it was an experience. Trapping your bollocks in your zip is an experience.

An experience isn't always a good thing FFS.

His experience seriously was, we are still as clueless tactically as last season?

Woopie f****ng do.

Lichaj can hold his head high.....this is all this experience can give him.

Monny then talks about Marc Albrighton....Gabby alert.

Please don't ruin two careers by playing them when they can't kick a ball!

If an early exit from the Peace Cup makes O'Neill pull his finger out of his arse, fine.

just can't find myself bothered or interested in these pre-season things, think a few games at home would have been better than being over there in the sweltering heat training in conditions they won't play in.

Agree with the tone of this article. Yes we played a good number of youngsters and were without some of the regular pros. Yes we lost one of our strikers after 5 minutes which disrupted MON's plans. Yes there were some positive outcomes in the form of Lichaj's play and the fact that all got some decent football under their belts. However, as the article says, it becomes more and more urgent that MON addresses the deficiencies that are glaringly obvious. The first of these is that we need to buy a guaranteed goalscorer. The second is that we need three or four quality signings to bolster a threadbare squad. And finally MON needs to instill a better grasp of tactics or reinforce what style he wants into the team. Because quite frankly, even with the absences of personnel last night, Villa should be aiming to beat that side and progress to the latter stages of this tournament which would set a marker down for the coming season. We failed to do that and while I still think MON is better than any manager we could reasonably expect to get into the Villa, he needs to improve quickly to retain my support.

I feel complete sympathy and anguish for the poor chap who penned the above article. To produce bile of such caliber, to vomit out his own insecurities in the form of this pus ridden, inadequately syntaxed, negative gumph such as this article can only mean one thing....... Un petite peins, le microscopic phallus, Cheesy Nik Nak s snack size, Obece&Ugly snydromme. Poor Lad, could you not focus your hatred on oh, let's say Simon Cowell, someone greasy fool who really deserves it. I'm sure you'll get laid one day man, cataracts is prevalent in many elderly Mongolian women these days man, not enough Zinc in the old diet. To End. Martin O' Neil is a genius, and when we get there, I like many fans who have actually stuck behind and supported their team, will celebrate will a clear conscience.

"We have a small squad yet we haven't signed anyone who can play until December maybe, we are looking at not playing people out of position and maybe more importantly we wont sell another player until we have signed replacements". You know for one joyous minute, I thought that we were reading there the revelation that a little light had suddenly switched on in Martin's head, and that all would be as it should be from here on in. Then I realised that it was merely that wicked man Mr Field/or Mr Murph making us sit up and take notice, only to then send us crashing back down as we realised that we were the victims of a Fieldy/Murph(?) April Fool's joke in late July. Silly us. Mart should be disappointed. We were, or most of us were. It was a shambles from first to last, not good enough. Not by a long shot.

zionhead, lighten up brother. You really need to try and obtain a sense of humour before you reach your teens, otherwise you're gonna find that life will be just downhill from there for you.
