Martin O'Neill, as he has been accustomed to doing since February this year was disappointed that we lost tonight.
This loss tonight means that if Malaga can somehow not lose their next match on Monday night, our involvement in the Peace Cup is over.
The Peace Cup is now no longer in our hands...nah, not really bothered either.
Speaking to the official site Martin O'Neill said:
We have a small squad yet we haven't signed anyone who can play until December maybe, we are looking at not playing people out of position and maybe more importantly we won't sell another player until we have signed replacements......well no he didn't but bear with me.
'I thought we had a great chance at one end - spurned it - and then they scored at the other end.'
This is polite for Osbourne being able to not kick a ball.
'But in a game of very few opportunities, it was very disappointing to lose and as a result, qualification for the semi-finals is now out of our hands.'
Meaning, every attempt on goal we missed....and we had plenty.
'We obvioulsy made some changes to the team during the game, with some of the senior players having only just come back to training.'
Meaning...excuse.
'John Carew, Stiliyan Petrov and Ashley Young played for just over an hour and of course, that affected us a little bit.'
How?
'We would, in general, have liked to have played the major players for a bit longer.'
So why didn't you, they had longer to rest?
'That obviously weakened our team. But I think it was the right thing to do because they only came back to train on Monday.'
But it was a team who roughly could beat CSKA Moscow because we apparently didn't throw the UEFA Cup? Are youngsters only useful in European comps, and not in pre season friendlies?
One way or another please.
Ignoring obviously we looked tonight just as crap in the first 45 as we did in the second. Major players meant nothing.
'I was expecting to win the game.'
With Heskey upfront?
'I thought we would be capable of doing it. I would have liked to qualify for the next stage.'
So given up already?
'It's not beyond us but it's now out of our hands.'
Because?
The official site, obviously the turns attention to the beautiful game....our youngsters...
'This environment is good for the younger players.'
Yeah seeing us lose!
'Eric Lichaj played with the senior players for the first time, which would have been an experience for him.'
Lichaj was potentially the man of the match. Of course it was an experience. Trapping your bollocks in your zip is an experience.
An experience isn't always a good thing FFS.
His experience seriously was, we are still as clueless tactically as last season?
Woopie f****ng do.
Lichaj can hold his head high.....this is all this experience can give him.
Monny then talks about Marc Albrighton....Gabby alert.
Please don't ruin two careers by playing them when they can't kick a ball!![]()
