Pretty sure that is comprehensive, if I've missed any, do tell! (Haven't counted the likes of Sam Williams being released as they didn't make the first team)

If your going to include the likes of Sutton and Agathe coming into the squad surely you should take them out again ???

Anyway, good job it would be good to make one when the transfer window closes and see where we are at.

Carson cost 2 mill for his season loan and Davies similarly in his first season. Some of the others are a tad generous too

But this is about transfer dealings, avfc, not salaries or bonuses. I would think we must stack up fairly well against most clubs with regard the wage bill.

great article. its good to see his dealings. I think overall he has done well. Second season wasnt so good. But his first year he signed 3 players who are essential to our squad!

Yeah spent about 15m each season, while we got over 120m for the three seasons from TV revenue alone, Yet Lerner is praised left right and centre for how generous he is.... He says we have the money there of course we do, Some times i wish we had a chairman who has the money and likes to bring in the big names as well, of course we are going the right way about it, but if we are just going for English players then we should do it properly, Richards, Upson, Bentley, Bent, Huddlestone etc etc.

You only need to look at some of the players that we've got rid of to realise that we were carrying so much dead wood at the end of the O'Leary era. Some were honest players who had just come to the end of their term at the villa, others were journeymen happy to pick up a decent salary and go through the motions. Whatever you might say about the villa these days, and MON by reflection (it's very much his squad now), there are limitations there, but for the most part, there's very few players who won't work hard for the team and give it 100%. Laursen's not on there too.

If you bought some good technical players to feed your strikers, you'd push Tottenham for 4th next year. More or less, that means bringing in a European/Latin player IMO. Unless another Rooney, Scholes or Wilshere can be unearthed.
