Jermaine Jenas Not Villa Bound

Jermaine Jenas, according to Spurs manager Harry Redknapp, is not for sale. Now I'd think Appy Arry would know, so we'll just have to take his word for it.

Jenas has been strongly linked to Villa, not only in the press stories but also the whispers and gossip that surrounds footie these days.

Looks like it isn't going to be an option though.

Appy Arry said on Sky Sports:

'I have never heard a thing from Aston Villa. I don't know where those stories keep coming from. No one has ever contacted us.'

'I don't want to sell Jermaine Jenas, he is a terrific player. We don't want to sell our best players.'

He also talks about Portsmouth's striker Peter Crouch, no real shock to see him talking about other clubs players, I do wish he'd stop. Anyway, within the quotes he says Spurs have got four good strikers so getting another isn't a priority. Reading between the lines, does that also mean that Darren Bent isn't for sale...?

And you`re right redknapp is the worst when it comes to blabbing about other clubs players in the media, since tapping up is meant to be banned someone should shut him up.

Defour, Moutino, Veloso - all cheaper and worth the risk. COULD be excellent players.

meant to say also, we know what we get with Jenas - in my opinion no better than Sidwell. Lets go for one of the foreign youngsters who can be amazing!

massive season for Sidwell (and Shorey if kept and played) now he is fit, has a pre-season under his belt etc, he should be up to speed and could well slot in very nicely.

What a manager says and what eventually happens are often 2 different things. I actually quite rate Jenas but dealing with Harry and Levy is tough because they are both tight as ducks arses. Quite rightly they want the right deal for their club. Robbie Keane on the other hand may well be available.... not that Iwould want him at Villa

Agreed, Fear, Sidwell may well be amazing for us this season. Shorey too. Funny thing though, I had a dream about Keane scoring for Villa, I'm not that much of a fan of his so maybe it was a nightmare instead!

i copied this ditty off the Daily Mail article about MON just now.... 'Look it's relatively early in the summer. This time last year, the only player we had signed was Steve Sidwell. O'Neill will face a huge challenge to get into the top four this season after Man City have signed a number of top players. 'Then we went and brought in a whole load just before the season kicked-off. Luke Young, Carlos Cuellar, Brad Friedel and more besides.....interestingly we only signed Sidwell by this same time last year

Well said Deano.avfc. We should look at Moutinho before he goes to Everton and his team mate Veloso is getting a good rep although i've never seen him play. Arry and his 2 faces belong on a market stool in croyden. Football has no place for dodgey cockney crooks!
