Janine Self of The Sun has a report today linking us to Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas.
He has been linked several times before and I think I've said a few times I think there is some substance to this link.
Martin O'Neill is looking to replace Gareth Barry who as we all know moved to Manchester City at the start of the summer and Jenas, an experienced box to box type of midfielder could be a pretty decent one in my ever so humble opinion.
The England midfielder appears to be a bit of a marmite player for Spurs fans, some love him, some hate him but at only 26-years of age he seems to have been about for an awfully long time and could slot straight into our midfield. He also appears to have one thing that Gareth didn't have (apart from penalties) namely goals. (25 goals in 150 games)

The Sun say that Appy Arry doesn't really want to sell Jenas but needs to raise money. Other reports have said he is a player that Redknapp would be willing to sacrifice.
The Guardian also carry the story and claim that Internazionale are also interested in him.
Our latest poll asks if you think he'd make a decent replacement or not? Would also be interesting to hear from the Vital Spurs members as to their opinion on the player, he does seem to split opinions amongst them from what I've seen!

In other news...
The Mirror claim that Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is looking to bid for Villa midfielder Nigel Hokey-Cokey. Well, they call him a midfield 'dynamo' but you get the drift.
Can't really see this and there are a few problems with the link.
1) Would Hokey-Cokey, at only 25, want to drop down a division? No I would guess to be the answer to that, I don't think the lad lacks confidence in himself.
2) Why wasn't this target asked for as part of the Stewart Downing deal? Unless it will form part of the Tuncay deal maybe?!
3) Who would I attach a silly name to as is Vital Villa's tradition of having one daft name, anyone remember Thomas Hitzlebeefburger, if he left?
4) There actually isn't a 4th point, my brain doesn't really work that hard at these things but I thought a list of just 3 looked a bit tame.
5) See 4.
Apparently Boro are willing to pay around £3million for him... ok, end of discussion, you can now see this isn't a serious link, ffs, he cost us £8.5m from West Ham, he hasn't gone down that much in value since and is still a young capable player when put in his right position...!
31-year-old Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin is still being linked in a £3million move. Wouldn't be bad business that.
Oh and the Craig Gardner to Blues story keeps re-appearing.
The Daily Star links us again with Spurs full-back Alan Hutton with a £5m price tag mentioned despite him costing Spurs £9m from Rangers in the 2008 winter transfer window.
Oh and the press who linked Villa and Spurs to Sweden U21 striker Marcus Berg were wrong, he's gone to German side Hamburg sadly!
