Man Utd NOT After Ashley Young

Manchester United are not after Ashley Young, they can't be, as Sir Alex Chewalot has declared an end to his shopping spree because of the over inflated prices in the current market.

As reported on Vital Man Utd Sir Alex says:

'It is the end of our business, so all these stories about who were are supposed to be getting - forget it. There are some amazing numbers being talked about, not all of them realistic. It is very difficult to get value now. In a way we benefited through the sale of Cristiano, although that figure was non-negotiable.'

So hopefully the press will stop linking him there, he won't be going to Spurs and although the press will no doubt just concentrate on the Barcelona and Chelsea links, there has been no solid evidence to date that they are genuinely looking to bid.

I must admit next summer might be a bit more of a worry if the England winger does continue to develop this season and Villa don't push on. Two IF's and plenty of time to worry at a later stage though surely!?

totally agree lerneravfc. its unbelievable that people are allowed to write lies and get away with them. i am so scepticle about transfer stories, and i don't believe anything now until i see it. young is clearly loving it at villa, yet someone has the nerve to say he is desperate to move to london??? and as if carew was ever going to leave villa this summer!? its a joke i tell ya, a joke.

Agree that next summer the headhunters might be gathering for Ash, but the ball is in Villa's court.

I think you'll find that a club with mega bucks will steal the ball and put it in their own court and follow that up with a mega bucks transfer and contract for Ash!! However by next summer, i fully expect MON and John Robertson to have a ready groomed replacement (just in case!!)

I cant say that I am all that convinced by Ferguson's statement that he has completed his buying for the summer, far from it. As long as signing Ashley Young isn't in his plans though, then as far as I am concerned he can break his word, and sign just who the hell he likes. Hopefully Ash can get himself back on track once the new campaign gets underway, return to the form of pre-January when he really looked an outstanding talent. Post January he looked a somewhat unhappy individual, allowing his head to drop all too easily. He looked as if he had the weight of the world on his young shoulders. He'll be back, of that I have no doubt.

I wouldnt read too much into Fergie's comments. He's got 50m of the 80m from the Ronaldo deal burning a hole in his pocket! United fans will ask questions to why he claims he business is done and again the commitments of the Glazer family. They were promised that the 80m raised from CR7's sale would be used on transfers - but this at the moment doesnt seem to be the case.... Time will tell - expect a 25m bid for our Ash towards the end of the window when prices tend to become more realistic.

This means nothing lads and Fergie followed this comment up with 'but there is 2 months left, so you never know blah blah'. He, was moaning about value for money (sound familiar?, but if something came up at the right price he would be on it like a shot. I won't be convinced Young is staying until the window closes.

Its good to know that SAF is following in MONS footsteps and has decided not to buy anyone (else) this summer. At least SAF was good enough to say so!

I cant see Young, Milner or Carew leaving. I think MON is more likely to cash in on Gabby because for a striker he's not doing the job and also has many supporters losing faith in him.

Time MON comes out and tells us that Young and Carew are not for sale. Then for Young to make a statement that he wants to stay at the Villa. Would want Ashley 100 times more than Downing.
