James Milner Looking To Win U21 Final

The England U21 team take on the old enemy Germany tonight in the Euro 2009 final.

Monday 29 June
The Final
Germany v England
New Stadium Malmö, Malmo
7.45pm

The two teams met in the group stages with a 1-1 draw the result, hopefully England can go one better tonight. Gabby Agbonlahor will miss the clash due to picking up a second yellow card but Craig Gardner could feature and James Milner is a bang on certainty to feature.

The Villa midfielder is sure they can win and told the official site:

'The beauty of this squad is that we have a lot of younger lads so it's the first time for a few of them. But there's also a lot of experience in the squad, players who got to the semi-final last time and who played in that shoot-out [against Holland]. All of that will stand us in good stead. Even the players who haven't played in the under-21 finals before, I'm sure that they've played in the under-17 European Championships. That's valuable experience as well.'

Adding that this is his third tournament - Milner holds the record for the number of caps at U21 level - and says having gone out twice in the semi's 'hopefully, we can go one better this time.'

Good luck lads, stick it to them!

Should make an interesting game, shame Gabi is banned - but I don't think he's even scored in this tournament! Although I'm guessing Pyscho has kept playing him because of his contribution....

yeah, Gabby hasn't really looked a thread to be fair but his pace still worries defenders. Shame he is out, seems quite harsh 2 yellows and you are suspended, feel sorry for Joe Hart as well, he wasn't doing much different to the Sweden keeper really!

"Hopefully can go one better"? Surely. by reaching he final they already have, now it's time to go two better. It amazes me, the intellectual level of even some of the brightest footballers is scary.
