Mixed Night For Villans As England U21s Qualify

Another great night for the England U21's albeit a mixed night for the Villa boys. Gabby Agbonlahor hobbled off injured not long after James Milner missed a penalty for a chance to put England 1 up.

Milner however didn't let that knock him off his stride and he scored later to put Villa 2 up and sealed our progression into the Semi finals of the Euro Championships. They face Germany in the final game of the group so hopefully they can just relax and enjoy winning that one with qualification secured.

James Milner, have I mentioned he played a blinder last night yet?! Told the official site:

'I'm not surprised that we've qualified so early because I know how good we are. This will give us a huge boost because we've shown the grit and determination we will need. It was a fantastic performance with just ten men against Finland and we did well to get through that. I thought against Spain we played really well, stopped them and restricted their chances to long-range efforts.'

He also says, despite qualification, they want to beat Germany... well, that goes without saying for any Englishman !!

And on the penalty miss, he admits to being disappointed and says he changed his mind as to what he was going to do at the last minute adding, 'People have disappointments and it's about how you react and luckily I bounced back and got on the scoresheet.'

I can't find anything at the moment on Gabby's injury apart from the fact it was shin trouble, if anyone else has heard/seen anything, feel free to leave the info in the article comments below.

Craig Garnder meanwhile replaced Milner in the 84th minute.

I think he is, say alot of him when he was on loan at Hull a couple of years ago, he is 2 years younger than Gabby, but I think even now he is a better player, would love him at Villa think he will develop into a fine forward.

Still no one has the raw pace Gabby has, and is a Villa fan himself who puts heart and soul into every match, Campbell is growing into a good player, but if he was so good Man Utd wouldn't want to let him go.

hmm, I think i'd agree with that. BUT, at the start of last season, I think Gabby was much better than he was in the second half of it...

also, spain were the favourites for the tournament. all we need to do now, is draw with germany, and spain are out, and we win the group. easy!

Well I think I rather take Fraser Cambell than Sol Cambell, whom we are supposedly trying to sign!
