Villa Home For First Game Of 2009/10 Season

Villa's fixtures are out for the 2009/2010 season. You can view the full list on the official site: Click Here

Due to the nature of football and the rules and regulations they impose, we aren't able to mention fixtures or publish lists, despite the fact these fixtures are basically just adverts for the games we pay our hard earnt money to go and see. Beyond belief? You bet!

Anyway, I'll see if this is seen as against the rules (despite a European Court of Justice ruling which should put pay to the charging for fixture lists but no one is in the financial position to challenge the leagues) to say that our opening game is against Wigan and will be played at home. Dare I mention a date? Gulp, I could bring down football if I do, lets see, August 15th, there I've done it, hands up, I've mentioned a date and a fixture. Shame on me.

We face Premiership new boys Wolves at the Molyneux in October with an away trip to our 'neighbours' across the city in the local derby v Blues the month before.

Boxing day is away against Arsenal and at the end of the month sometime non specific but not New Years day or eve (painful isn't it?) we play Liverpool at home.

We also have the return of Gareth Barry to 'look forward to' in October. Now that will be a strange one!

All these fixtures are before TV and Champions League/Europa League games are taken into consideration.
