Guzan's Aim For Next Season

Not much different from his aim when he joined being fair to the lad but while the talking off the pitch sounds right, you have to hope the performance on the pitch will be aswell.

Speaking on the official site the USA goalkeeper has admitted he is more hungry for first team action this season after tasting life at Villa Park seven times last season.

Although Guzan only made one brief appearance in the Premier League, he did make six starts in Cup competitions including our ill fated Uefa campaign.

This time round he wants to push Friedel even harder and get some more starts under his belt as he bids to become our first choice number one.

'My aim is obviously to keep pushing Brad and to make it hard for the manager and the staff to be able to name a number one.

'With Brad's experience and everything it's understandable but I want to push forward and get more games.

'Not only personally but as a team, I want to help push everything in the right direction.'

I think most fans agree next season will be very important to us in terms of finding out if we are on the right track and pushing in the right direction.
