Owen No Go For Villa?

Owen No Go For Villa?

Owen No Go?

The official site have a rather brief statement without quotes (I assume because Martin O'Neill is still on his holidays maybe?) denying that Villa are about to sign Michael Owen.

Reports today had suggested we'd offered him a two-year deal.

Apparently not!

Reading between the lines he doesn't seem to have completely dimissed the sign of Owen but saying there is no truth in the speculation whatsoever. The train of thought I'm tending to lead with is that maybe we are negotiating with Owen and he 'representatives'. Who knows but if Moyes also sees getting some return from signing Owen, I'd rather we beat them to the coup!

Would just like to point out that Owen's Newcastle contract doesn't expire until the 31st of June. I dont know if this has an affect on announcing the possible signing of the player. What it does mean though is that if he does sign we'll be paying his £55k a week wages (or whatever it maybe) from the 1st July...
