Steve Sidwell gets the thumbs up by Vital Villa voters in our last poll asking who should replace Barry. Full results: Steve Sidwell Gets Vote To Replace Barry!

Emile Heskey has told the official site he has his eye on silverware for Villa. 'We want to make even more progress in the coming years. I am excited by the new campaign already. It'll be my first full season as a Villa player and that makes a big difference. I'd love to win trophies here - that's the ambition of every player. Look at the likes of Ryan Giggs at Manchester United. He's won a lot of things in his career at Manchester United but the hunger is still there - he wants to just keep on winning. I think once you win one trophy, it makes you hungry for more.'

Just say NO, nothing else is needed as a response! What am I on about? Well, John Carew has been asked about the reported interest from Manchester City for his services and JC says he is 'flattered'. Full details: Just Say NO John Carew!!!

Gareth Barry has been linked to.... oh no, hang on, he's gone hasn't he, sorry so used to starting the rumours with gossip on him! :o) Links today include Atlético Madrid midfielder José Manuel Jurado, Spurs duo David Bentley and Tom Huddlestone, Obafemi Martins from Newcastle and some little known French striker called David Trezeguet! Article on Vital Spurs about Tom Huddlestone: Will Tom Huddlestone ever be the finished article?

Talking about Hleb, his agent says he isn't going to return to the Premiership, expect us to sign him tomorrow! Agent Oliver Minztlaff told Sport he wants to stay and fight for his place at Barcelona. 'Hleb is not satisfied with the opportunities he has had. He would like to play more, but he is confident that he will be able to prove to Guardiola that he is good enough.' He did admit that there has been interest from German and English clubs but added 'In Barca, he has found a club where he can win titles and his sole intention is to stay there.'

Brad Guzan has spoken to the official site about how great it is to be working with Brad Friedel. 'He's been 100 per cent a great pro, a great team-mate and a great friend to be able to work with. We are able to push each other and he was able to give me just little things here and there about what to expect from certain players when I was playing in UEFA games and cup games. He has been tremendous on and off the field and to be able to work with him has been great.'

Thought for the day: DON'T waste money on expensive ipods. Simply think of your favourite tune and hum it. If you want to 'switch tracks', simply think of another song you like and hum that instead.
