Shorey Still Unsure On Future

Not sure if this is an old rehash as the quotes do look familiar, but it seems Nicky Shorey is no nearer knowing whether he will be at the club next season.

Have to be honest, I'm not sure I buy into this uncertain future business. O'Neill selected him for the final few games and Shorey started slowly to show the form we expected from him.

The story seems to have more legs following the Fulham substitution where Shorey could be clearly seen to echo most of the comments from the fans to be honest when we see fullbacks taken off for strikers, but if that was going to play any part in whether he will be here next season O'Neill would've dropped him and played Heskey instead.

Anyway, speaking to the E&S Shorey said:

"Do I know what the future holds? I haven`t got a clue. Who knows? It is not for me to say. We will have to wait and see what happens.

"It has been a season of ups and downs - not the way I would have wanted it to go. But that's how it goes in football and in life sometimes and you just try to take those experiences on board and make yourself stronger.'

With all the signings we need to make to strengthen the team properly I can't see Monny getting rid of players unless silly money offers come in, and I don't think anyone would offer silly money for Shorey.

Failing that would O'Neill complicate life and get rid of a player who is our only natural option at left back....
