'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bannan Eyes Silverware

Barry Bannan has said the second string are determinedto win the play off final for Kevin MacDonald.

Speaking on the official site, Bannan revealed his admiration for his second string gaffer and said the stiffs were determined to put right last seasons hiccup.

'Kevin has done a brilliant job. He is a great coach and we want to win it for him really.

'We felt down and bad for ourselves when we got beat by Liverpool at the same stage last season - but we felt especially gutted for Kevin.

'We know first-hand the effort and commitment he shows for the boys and we just want to win it for him.

'It was tough to take at Anfield. Liverpool were good and you can't take it away from them.

'But we have an advantage this season because we'll have our own fans behind us and we're playing on our own patch. That will be a bonus and the lads are certainly up for it.

'The fans will certainly have a part to play. When you're losing and feeling down, they can lift you and if you're doing well, they can spur you on to play even better. It's a massive boost and I hope they can come in their numbers.'

Kick off for the Barclays Premier Reserve League play off final is at 7pm and entry is free.
