Petrov Near To Signing Extension

Stiliyan Petrov has revealed that he is in the final phase of contract negotiations with the Villa and expects the matter be sorted out within a few weeks.

The 29 year old double Player of the Year said to the Express and Star that his latest talks have gone well.

'It's been going well. I think we're in the final phase now.

'Things could happen in the next few weeks. We are nearly there, I can say that.'

I hope it sorted out sooner rather than later, Mr O'Neill has additional homework to do in the transfer market this summer!

Great News...Now if gareth can just do the same and you can bring in Zhirkov, Lescott, Vermalen, Hangeland, Llorente, Wagner Love, Delph, Barnes, Pennant, Johnson...We would have a 25% chance of breaking that top 4, LOL

I will not be happy until he has signed on the dotted line. He has been brilliant this season. When he was the holding man in a 3 man midfield I would even say he was one of the best players in the League.
