Cheer The Reserves On To Glory

Cheer The Reserves On To Glory

Villa's reserves play Sunderland in the FA Premier Reserve League play-off final this Thursday night at Villa Park with a 7pm kick off. I believe entry is free and the Villa are asking for fans to get down to support them.

There will also be a special edition News & Record programme (£1 with 50p going to Acorns)

The official site says It promises to be a mouth-watering occasion as Villa look to avenge their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in last season's final.

Talented youngsters such as Marc Albrighton, Nathan Delfouneso, Barry Bannan and Ciaran Clark look set to be in action and there's no doubt there'll be eager to end the season with some silverware.

Marc Albrighton says the reserves are determined to win the play off this year following last seasons disappointing loss to Liverpool.

He told AVTV: 'Last season was a great season - we won the Academy title and just lost out to Liverpool in the reserve final. At the start of this season our thoughts were on going one better and winning the play-off final at the end of the season.'
