O'Neill Has Young Hopes

Martin O'Neill is hoping that Ashley Young will recover from his knock in time to face Newcastle in our last match of the season.

Ash limped off with a calf injury in todays draw against Middlesbrough which saw us drop to a prioritised 6th place in the league.

Speaking on the official site, O'Neill, a man who believes James Milner is a right (more on that in a minute) back said:

'Ashley got a kick in the calf. He was really sore when he came off and it has tightened up since.

'But I am hoping he will be fine in the next few days but I am not sure yet.'

Decisive as ever eh!

Newcastle should be a walk in the park, with or without Young. Do everyone a favor. Beat the barcodes and send them to the Championship.

Come on fella......give the snide remarks a miss eh? Decisive as ever? Oh, you mean MON should be able to foresee how quickly a player can get over injury within being asked 5 mins after a game? Give the guy a break. This is getting boring.

looking forward to seeing how Ash does next season, he has certainly come on leaps and bounds this season (obviously tiring towards the end) but at his age and with his talent, he really is a fantastic prospect. Hey Vital Villan, bit tough on the manager expecting him to know just yet whether he'll be ready for the Newcastle game! LOL

I'd already read the other stuff from the night so the alter-ego was already in a foul mood! To be honest against Newkie I'd rather us blood the youngsters given 6th place is guaranteed, let's see what Clark, Lichaj etc can do.
