Carew Wants Hangeland in Claret & Blue
John Carew has admitted that he'd love to see fellow Norweigan Brede Hangeland join Aston Villa.
Villa are amongst a number of teams linked with the 27-year-old centre back who has been one of the key components of Fulham's impressive form. Hangeland has been offered a new contract by Roy Hodgson, however Carew has chosen to publically suggest it'd be a good idea if his international team-mate made to the Midlands.
Speaking to Birmingham Mail, the man bigger than me, and you, said:
'You never know, there will be a lot of teams interested. But if Martin O'Neill wants him, then just have a go.
'He is a great defender who could fit into any team. If he was to come here it would be positive for the club.
'Hangeland has been in the top three or four defenders in the league this season. He is the complete defender.
'He has that strength being so big, he is good in the air, he has good speed, he is one of the best defenders in the league on the ball.'

I agree too! Sign him up! We have had great Swedish and Danish (still have) Centre halfs, why not make it a set and get a great Norwegian one to fill our scandinavian trio!

To be fair medzy, Davies seems fairly reliable, especially alongside Laursen, and is still fairly young. Cuellar hasn't had a spell at CB either so it might be harsh to judge yet. Zat...well i can't understand why we pass to him at all, don't get me wrong i think hes decent cover and great in the air, but his distribution is fairly shocking for a professional. I don't disagree with wanting hangelands services for villa though, particularly as Laursen's return appears doubtful.
