Clough Would Like Barry Bannan Back

Derby County manager Nigel Clough has admitted the Rams have no chance of getting Barry Bannan permanently but says he would like to take the Villa youth midfielder back on loan next season.

Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph, a regular read in the Fear household obviously, that they plan to talk to Villa about the 19-year-old Scot (who has played 9 times and scored once since his loan deal began in March) adding,

'...he will go back to Aston Villa because they want to keep him. But he is one we would certainly look at trying to get back for next season for a loan spell. He is a great lad to work with and most importantly he is a good player.'

I reckon a couple of seasons working under clough and playing in front of good crowds at a decent level would bring him on leaps and bounds.

I'd love to see the likes of him, Albrighton and Delfounso plying their trade in the Fizzy Pop league next season.

As long as they pay his wages I imagine the manager will be happy as long as he is getting first team football.
