Aston Villa Transfer Rumours

Interesting and worrying report in various papers today saying that Juventus will return for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso this summer. It seems that Rafa will have to sell before he can buy judging by recent comments from the Liverpool manager and it appeared he wanted Gareth Barry last summer at the expense of Alonso. Hmmm, 2+2= ? We'll find out in the summer. Must admit I'd not blame Gareth if he wanted to leave for Liverpool this summer, he's given us good service and he wants to play at the top level which it seems we are unable to offer at the moment. How long at his age would you wait for the chance to test your skills in the Champions League, remember careers are short!?

The Sun say Villa are looking at Steaua Bucharest defender Dorin Goian as a possible replacement for Martin Laursen. They say the Romanian is rated at around £5.5million and that is pretty much that! Wiki have some info: (Click Here) how accurate it is I'm not sure! Interesting to see he has 5 international goals, goodness knows we've missed the goal threat from our Great Dane since his latest injury.

Villa have been linked with 26-year-old attacking midfielder Rafael van der Vaart. Well, when I say linked, really what the report says is that Real Madrid might be willing to let the Dutchman leave for a cut down price of around £8million and the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa are likely to renew their interest in the player who is struggling to get first team football at the Bernabeu.

Looks rubbish! :o)

lets get van der vaart. not in good form but no one is when they move to real madrid. im sure we can bring the best out of him. what will bouma be like next yr? will he be back to his best? take a gamble on agger. not sure bout this romanian. midfielders midfielders midfielders. + a replacement for laursen..if thats possible. dnt no if we need another striker. delfouneso imo will be a good partner to gabby next season given some match xp.

heard fabregas and van persie are getting jealous of arsharvin. maybe put a cheeky 50m double bid in.

I'd snap both my arms off to see Van der Vaart (and his mrs) at VP. I was gutted when I heard he'd gone to madrid.

just googled her. i agree and do u have a wife/girlfriend? cause if u dnt im sure u'd want to keep one of tose arms.

How can anybody say we don't need a striker?! It's clear that Heskey can't cut it at the top level these days, and hasn't been able to for a good few years now, and that leaves us with Gabby and Carew as the only strikers who can be relied upon at this level. The Fonz is promising, there's no doubt about it, but he's far from being able to be a starting striker for 5 or 10 games should somebody get injured. Ideally, I'd like to see us going for not only a striker, but perhaps somebody who can play 'in the hole', a player who can create as well as take chances.

That's right, I heard from the highest source that van der Vaart will turn down Arse and Chelsea because his Missus fancies shopping in the Bulling.

russian strikers seem to be the latest. im going to start my own rumour Pavel Pogrebnyak from zenit...same as arsharvin. so all media sources use this blog. 25yr old Pavel Pogrebnyak from zenit has been following av's progress this season and thinks they are a nice club. it it up to my club if i can pursue my dream. he stated to the russian press. gerrard says the same...theres ur player for 'in the hole'.
aussi_avfc
Pogrebnyak looks similar to laursen. omen?

Another rumour - could be worth a punt as someone who can play behind the strikers http://community.footballpools.com/blog/2009/04/29/anas-sharbini-the-3m-new-boban/
