Ha! The Cock & Bull Transfer Season Is Upon Us!

Ha! The Cock & Bull Transfer Season Is Upon Us!

Ha, it is the cock and bull season, sorry, I meant the transfer rumour season! It won't be long before we are linked with every player except the ones we actually buy but in the meantime, the rumours are slowly building.

According to the People we are after £4million rated right-back Marcos Angeleri the 26-year-old plays for Estudiantes de La Plata and is also an up and coming star for the Argentina national side.

The paper claimed Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla were also tracking the player. The one bit that interested me was the fact he can also play in the centre or at left-back, blimey Martin O'Neill could have a field day moving him about! :o)

Here is an expansive compilation of his highlights:

Quality, get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, if you want a more serious clip, he also scores!

Roughly translated, the commentator is saying 'corr blimey, look at the little guy go, what a good goal, boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts isn't it?'

The People also claimed at the weekend that Spurs want to offload former Blackburn winger David Bentley. We are again linked with the player who we bid for last summer only for him to choose his boyhood team Spurs. However the move hasn't worked out for him and the papers are putting 2+2 together and linking Villa with a second - perhaps cheaper (!?) - bid for the England player. Everton and Atletico Madrid are also linked. Hey, I might as well add a couple of teams as well, think this is the way that you do professional reporting, so here goes, apparently Stockport County and Lincoln City are also interested. Don't worry, I'll get the hang of this journalist stuff one day.

Upson, Naughton, Defour, Downing, Owen, Sturridge, Johnson, Richards in........out Salifou, Harewood, and sadly I think but really hope not...Gareth Barry and Martin Laursen. Long loans to the Championship for Bannan, Albrighton, O'Halloran and Osbourne. Am I just a little too optimistic?

I think we must make a serious bit to get Owen. I'd put hin on a £40k per week basic and make his wages up with bonus (matches/goals/asists/etc). If he comes and scores 20 goals plays 40 matches in this day and age I'd give him £80-100k. Lets face it if Owen came and scored 20+goals with Carew and Gabby chipping in we'll be very close. Better still a fit Owen is more than capable of 20+goals. Newcastle could be down in a few week and a early signing like that would be a big signal of intent (Barry look on). Add Defour, Downing, Johnson and a serious Centre back and leftback. The new season would look very hopeful. We need to spend ~£50m. A must must is early signings. I'm hoping Barry cares more for World Cups than sitting next to that fat spanish <|_|NT watching Gerrard and Alonso running around.

It is starting to look that over 38 matches Villa are about 10points short of 4th place. We need a slightly bigger squad but more importantly we need to improve the squads collective quality (sounds good!). Did Heskey Sidwell and Shorey do that? Umm.. Good night all!!!
