'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Three Points Were Vital Today

Martin O'Neill has said that 3 points were vital today if we wanted to chase Arsenal for 4th place.

Speaking on the official site after the match, our manager revealed his frustration as we failed to pick up the win we desperately needed.

'We had to win. I felt if we had done, we would have been off and running again on the back of some good performances.

'I felt three points would have given us a chance. With Arsenal travelling to Anfield, they would have been under more pressure.

'I think if this result had happened mid-season, you could have brushed it aside and made up for it. But now we are running out of games.

'It's going to be a really difficult task and in reality we will now need help from other sources. Let's be fair, we needed to win.'

We needed to win and we lost it in the final 10 minutes again. Same old story, I think we are pretty used to it now.

One of thesedays we'll remember how to kill teams off and until we do, we'll keep losing points.

It's funny he says 3 points were vital today. I'm pretty sure he said the same last week. I'm waiting for him to say that 3 points were vital today if we were going to catch Everton in 5th place.
