MON Delighted By Support

MON Delighted By Support

Martin O'Neill has called on the Villa faithful to be out in full voice again and praised us for staying with the team against Everton.

Speaking on the official site, O'Neill called the fans Everton performance 'phenomenal' and insisted that the first teamers were delighted with the support they received.

'The players are in good spirits and feel like a win is around the corner.

'They were so, so encouraged by the crowd staying with them for the whole of the game on Sunday.

'The crowd were absolutely phenomenal. They kept with the team and didn't throw in the towel when they could easily have given up at various stages in the game.

'That was a source of genuine encouragement for me and the players.'

Maybe we didn't throw in the towel because we could see the team wasn't going to and we didn't see our manager put a winger at centre half?

Let alone the fact we'd have all been happy that we had a natural leftback in the team, and our in form goalscoring striker actually starting the match.

These things go together you know.

Unbelievable. M'ON praises the support and all the article writer does is critisise. Apparently he thinks we should only support the team if the manager picks the team that the writer would? By all accounts there was a good atmosphere last week because Shorey was playing. This is the same Shorey that fans were saying is not good enough when he was playing!! maybe it is me but I think a job of supporter is to 'support'. Players/managers come and go but supportersare always there to give encouragement to the shirt, irrespective of who is wearing it. Fickleness premeates this club abd this article just about sums up everything that is wrong with a significant number of Villas supposed fans.

Agreed voiceoftheholte..... do ANY of us see the team train every day, have an insight into player attitudes, or understand the dynamic of the changing room? Do we spend our week watching the game multiple times on DVD and breaking it down to see where the problems are? The simple answer to all of this is NO. So how the hell can we sit in judgment on team selection....? Support the boys wearing claret and blue - whoever they are....so much whining on this site - McGrath forbid our club goes on a bad run!
