Heskey Withdrawn From England Squad

The official site have confirmed that Emile Heskey has withdrawn from the England squad because of a hamstring injury.

The striker has returned to Villa for treatment.

No word yet as to how bad his injury is and whether he'll be fit for the Manchester United game this Sunday.

Could be a blessing in disguise if he's out injured for a bit!

Fingers crossed he'll be out for the rest of the season...

yeah, i actually celebrated his injury more than his goal. sorry, did i say his goal? i meant to say, the one where stevie g bounced the ball off heskeys knee into the net. his miss 2 minutes later? now that was vintage emile!!

Im telling you - Friedel - Young, Shorey, Davies, Knight - Barry, Reo-Coker, Petrov - Young, Milner, Carew for the game v United. Keep Gabby as an impact player to run at tired defence. Come on Villa

This was the only way that MON would ever drop him. Maybe our run of bad luck has changed........

It's got to the point where I'm starting to think O'Neill would even play him on crutches.

before i clicked on this article i thought, ' wonder what everyone is saying about this?' i was right and i agree, in particular with bobbyfett, when he went off all i could feel was a sense of joyous relief, automatically saying now maybe MON can't play him.

not been the biggest impact of a new signing really has it!?
The Fear
The guy has supposedly been carrying niggles since he arrived at B6 back in January. Under the circumstances it makes complete sense he withdraws from the England squad.

I guess we havent given Heskey time to really prove himself since he arrived at Villa Park, but certainly up until now, I have to admit to being very disappointed with his performances. He just hasn't looked the part, and is certainly not a better option up front than is John Carew.
