Good News For Friedel As Red Is Rescinded

Villa's appeal over Brad Friedel's red card has been won so he can face Manchester United in our next game.

Common sense prevails. It was a penalty, no one would claim otherwise, but no way did the referee have to send the keeper off!

Good news, it means Friedel can play v Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Awesome :)

Probably just me but I was kinda hoping to see Guzan in action, haven't been too impressed with Friedel recently. Tho saying that Old Trafford isn't the ideal place to make your first premiership start.

Yeah - our chances have now increased from none to slim-to-none!!

nah not just you Grimaldo, i think it would have been good to see Guzan play. Not just because he is probably jumping out of his skin to get on the pitch, but also because i too believe Friedel has not been that good lately.

I hope he plays better next time, no offense to the guy - he's been god and is a fair ster forward from carson - but he played *****e on sunday

it's great to see common sense prevail! Can they give Gerrard a red though for that dreadful late lunge and catching the ankle of your player (Reo-Coker?)
merlin
Gerrard lunged Davies and only got booked for it. It was cynical in comparison.

Common sense wins the day, and you certainly aren't able to say that very often, particularly when our friends from the premier league and/or F.A. are involved. The whole law needs re-evaluating though, because you can well understand our rivals being upset at the leniency shown to Brad Friedel.

Lot of supporters have been leveling criticism at Brad Friedel lately. I think that he's still far and away the better option for us in goal. The only real concern I have with him is his reluctance to come off his line, but I think that that concern has been there since day one. No, he's alright in my book. I 'm certainly not chomping at the bit to see Guzan get a premier league start.
