Lawro Says Villa Loss At Anfield

Mark Lawrenson, after getting stung predicting a Villa win v Spurs last week, has opted for a 2-0 win for Liverpool against us at Anfield today (4pm kick off, Sky Sports 1)

The BBC pundit said:

'There is a massive feel-good factor at Anfield. They've had three marvellous results, are in the next round of the Champions League, are back in the title race and their manager has just signed a new contract. If you look at Villa, results are going against them, they are struggling to score and, would you believe, their own supporters booed them last week which I find quite amazing as they've had a fine season. With all that in mind I'm going for a Liverpool victory.'

Meanwhile Martin O'Neill told AVTV:

"Results have knocked confidence - but it is far from destroyed. It has been lost a little so we need to regroup now. We have 10 matches remaining and I have an idea of the amount of games we would need to win to give ourselves a real proper chance {of finishing 4th}. We are going to go and try and win at Anfield. We are capable of doing that, definitely."

Hopefully Murph will be along later with the previews to beat all previews..!

2-0??? I wish! 3-0 at half time, I'm worried about them scoring another 3 :(

I was hoping you'd get something today, mind you I was hoping we'd get something yesterday - been a bad weekend I guess!

Words of wisdom from Lawro. I think that he's given up on us, just as we appear to have done on ourselves.

Jeez merlin, your lot are more than capable of lifting trophies through their own efforts, not relying on the likes of us to help you out. O.K., the premiership title might just be slipping away from you, but I'd say you have a more than decent chance of lifting the Champions League trophy. Maybe only Barcelons could stop you, I dont know, but out of the English clubs, I'd say you have the best chance.
